What the *%@! is a Bekkering?

January 10, 2008

My thoughts on the Celtics sleepwalk of a loss against the Bobcats last night will come later, but for now, you need to see this. For real. Wait out the first minute, enjoy the middle, and then prepare yourself for the ending highlight and tell me if you managed to watch the entire thing without making a “bad smell” face. I didn’t. I looked like Stephon Marbury when Amare snatched Olowokandi’s soul.

When Surfing Goes Right

December 28, 2007

YouTube is many things, not the least of which a constant threat to topple you into a pool of nostalgia. My random clicking on the Tube tonight brings you these two glorious Top 10 Plays of the Week clips from NBA Action circa 1991-92. With highlights from the likes of Mark Price, Sherman Douglas, a Sixers era Charles Barkley, Mitch Richmond, KJ, and Stacey Augmon, these two clips make my all-time favorites list without even trying. Also, notice that the same announcer from back then still does the countdown on NBA Action, and his catch phrases haven’t changed one bit. Awesome.
